Neurology, by video, anywhere in Florida
Mind Link now offers neurology consultations alongside our psychiatric care — delivered by secure video visit with a board-certified neurologist, without the months-long wait most neurology referrals involve.
Care led by Victor Diaz-Cotrina, MD
Neurology at Mind Link is provided by Dr. Victor Diaz-Cotrina, a board-certified neurologist and vascular neurologist with more than a decade of experience across academic and private practice. He serves as Director of the Neurohospitalist Service and Vascular Neurologist at Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute, where he is also faculty in the neurology residency program.
He completed his neurology residency at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his vascular neurology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His clinical interests center on acute stroke care, cerebrovascular disease, neurohospitalist medicine, advanced neuroimaging, and psychiatry.

Common questions
- Do you offer neurology appointments in person?
- Neurology at Mind Link is delivered by secure video visit anywhere in Florida. Our Miami, Doral, and Fort Lauderdale offices are for in-person psychiatric care. If your neurological care needs an in-person procedure or test, we'll tell you clearly and help arrange it locally.
- What can actually be handled over video?
- More than most people expect. Diagnosis review, interpreting imaging and test results you've already had, medication selection and adjustment, follow-up for chronic conditions like migraine, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis, and post-stroke management all work well by video. What can't be done remotely is a hands-on examination, injections, and in-office testing — those get referred out.
- Do I need a referral?
- No. You can request a neurology consultation directly. If you already have a neurologist or primary care physician, we're glad to coordinate with them, and having your prior records makes the first visit far more productive.
- Do I have to be in Florida for the appointment?
- Yes. Licensing requires that you be physically located in Florida at the time of each visit. You can join from anywhere in the state.
- Can prescriptions be sent through a video visit?
- Yes. Prescriptions are sent electronically to any Florida pharmacy you choose, and adjusted at follow-up visits. Certain controlled medications carry additional requirements, which we'll go over with you directly.
- Is this the same practice as your psychiatry service?
- Yes. Mind Link is one practice with two service lines: psychiatric care with Maria Botero, APRN, in person and by telepsychiatry, and neurology with Victor Diaz-Cotrina, MD, by telehealth. Many neurological conditions overlap with mood, sleep, and cognition, which is part of why the two sit together.
